Chinese New Year’s Eve 2011

Chinese New Year’s Eve 2011 says zaijian to the Year of the Tiger and nihao to the Year of the Rabbit.

We stayed close to home this year, as we didn’t expect Casey to have much patience for the constant barrage of explosions.

Accompanied by our good friends Steven and Angel, we headed over to Jinji Hu (Golden Rooster Lake), a 5-10 minute walk from our apartment.

The local district administration put on a 20-30 minute fireworks show, launched from an island in the middle of the small lake. The show was followed by an impressive fountain, light and laser show.
